The Catholic Business Leadership Award was established in 2014 to recognize individuals who demonstrate the guidance of their Catholic faith in their professional lives and in support of Archdiocesan and civic charitable causes.

Michael Burns

Helping Up Mission

Helping Up Mission is a faith-based charity that operates a 750-bed campus serving men and women struggling with addiction, homelessness and poverty.

Prior to Helping Up Mission, Michael enjoyed a long career at American Trading and Production Corporation and its successor, Lord Baltimore Capital Corporation in Baltimore. Prior to that, Michael worked in Finance at Black & Decker headquarters in Towson.

Michael is a long-time CPA and received his Accounting degree from Loyola University. Michael also has a Master of Divinity degree from Holy Trinity Theological College & Seminary.

Michael is married to his lovely wife, Johanna, with whom they enjoy three sons and five grandchildren.

Michael is a member of St John’s Westminster where he sings in the choir, does some teaching and serves as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector.
